RECENT DECISIONS [] Board changes residency requirements for convalescent center The issue: After researching other public-owned nursing facilities, the DuPage County Board changed eligibility requirements May 25 for chronically ill or infirm patients to get treatment while living at the DuPage Convalescent Center, a county-owned nursing home. Applicants must be DuPage County residents who have lived in-county for at least a year. The home previously required applicants to be DuPage County residents for only 90 days.

What it means: Exceptions are possible when no DuPage residents are on the waiting list or if the applicant is a recent county resident. The changes will affect all new ...
