Maple Park's village president and police chief were charged in a gambling conspiracy Friday night as the state attorney general's office and state police ended a year-long undercover operation. State troopers arrested Village President Mark Delaney and Police Chief Chester Morris during the raid of D.J.'s Tavern West, 221 Main St., Maple Park. Delaney was charged with conspiracy to commit gambling, while Morris was charged with official misconduct.

Delaney, of the 500 block of Maple Avenue, Maple Park, was accused of openly participating in illegal gambling at the bar.
