[] County Board makes Clean Air Act commitment
The issue: County Board member Thomas Bennington, R-Downers Grove, said warm summer months mean more ozone action days, and residents can do simple things that improve both air quality and quality of life. The board passed a clean air pledge July 13 that made specific recommendations to residents and businesses, such as eating in for lunch, refueling vehicles after 7 p.m., postponing lawn mowing on high-air-pollutant-level days and maintaining your gas-powered equipment or replacing it with electric equipment.
