I've been thinking for months for a substantial reason to shun diets like South Beach, Atkins, Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss Solution and the Zone.
Now I have it.
An article in the Chicago Tribune featured Rob Stevens, a Chicago author who wrote "The Overfed Head," an "anti-diet book" that claims "diets are the very reason we're fat in the first place ... they mess up your metabolism, exaggerate your interest in food and diminish your confidence when they inevitably fail," wrote the columnist, Julie Deardorff.
Here's the line I find most interesting: Diets exaggerate your interest in food.
