John `Jack' V. Murphy
John "Jack" V. Murphy, 76, of Yorkville died of cancer Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Chicago.
He was a member of the Navy Air Corps. He worked as a PBX repairman for Illinois Bell for 36 years, served on the board of the Bell West Credit Union and was a member of the SBC Pioneers. For many years he was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, where he was a member of the Men's Club. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita; three sons, John J. (wife Diana) Murphy of Downers Grove, Thomas P. (wife Mary) Murphy of La Grange Park and Edward J. Murphy of Downers Grove; five grandchildren, Ruth, ...
