ARLINGTON, Texas -- On a national day of rest, it was nice to see the White Sox and Texas Rangers follow through with Labor Day's anti-work theme. In a game of two teams coming to grips with the fact they likely won't be playing past the first weekend in October, there were five combined errors, four by the Rangers alone.

While the Sox have known since the beginning of this month that their postseason dreams have faded fast, the Rangers still are struggling with acceptance. Texas lost two of three to the wild-card-leading Boston Red Sox over the weekend and entered Sunday 6 1/2 games out of the lead in the American League West.
