NORTH CHICAGO -- The former top health official of Cook County has been named the new chair of the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science board of trustees.
Ruth Rothstein, who retired recently as chief of the Cook County Bureau of Health Services, for 12 years ran one of the nation's biggest public health departments, comprised of John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, the Cook County Department of Public Health, Provident Hospital, Oak Forest Hospital and Ambulatory, Community Health Network, Cermak Health Services, and the Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center.
