Article: Herald News snags 19 awards

SPRINGFIELD -- The Herald News captured 19 awards on Friday in annual competitions sponsored by the Illinois Press Association and the Illinois Associated Press Editors Association. The awards include eight first-place honors: five from the IPA and three from the AP. IPA judges awarded top honors to the newspaper for original column, overall design, headline writing, sports section and best coverage of taxation. The top awards from AP were for investigative reporting, news photo and sports photo.
