ST. LOUIS -- Cardinals manager Tony La Russa has always perfected the game within the game, and the World Series is no different. His latest game involves accommodations.
After being relieved to return home for Game 3 of the World Series tonight at Busch Stadium, La Russa complained of the bush-league accommodations for the Cardinals in Boston.
Because of a "The Head of the Charles" regatta over the weekend in Boston, the Cardinals were bumped from their downtown hotel to Quincy, Mass., about a 30- to 45-minute drive to Fenway Park. Most teams stay within five minutes of the ballpark.
