HINCKLEY -- Al Franzen admits he's disappointed that his invitation for Tuesday night's third and final U.S. Senate debate never arrived.
He would have liked the chance to match wits with Barack Obama and Alan Keyes before a statewide audience.
On the bright side, though, at least he didn't have to worry about that grimy TV makeup.
"I'll be honest, it would've been nice to be there," he said. "But you take the good with the bad.
Franzen, a 56-year-old Aurora native, will be on the Nov. 2 statewide election ballot as an independent candidate for the Senate.
