Grab your dancing shoes and formal attire -- the 19th annual Black and White Ball will be Jan. 22 at the Wicker Park Social Center in Highland. Proceeds help fund community-service and outreach programs sponsored by the Ophelia Steen Family & Health Services Center in Hammond.
Under the leadership of Shanda Jackson, the center provides legal counseling, day care, educational classes and groceries for area residents. Kudos to Cynthia Warner, Jeannette Dennis and Paul Walker, who are organizing this fun-filled evening.
