Lillian Garth, 65, of Gary says she will walk into a room with a specific purpose, and once she is there, she forgets why she went there in the first place. "I will just stand there for a minute and think, and then it comes to me," Garth said. It's an all too familiar scenario for senior citizens and others experiencing memory loss that sometimes occurs with age.

"I want to learn mental exercises I could do to delay the regression of age-related memory loss," Garth said. "I don't want to get to the point where I forget everything. I've heard stories of people going places and they forget how to get home."
