Sneezing, wheezing and sniffling allergy sufferers flock to doctors' offices in droves. Over-the-counter allergy medicines fly off the shelves. It is yet another brutal year for allergies in Northwest Indiana.
Allergy season is in full gear and the end is still weeks away, when frost kills Northwest Indiana's ample ragweed crop.
"Every year in Northwest Indiana is bad," said Kenneth Blumenthal, who specializes in adult and pediatric allergy and asthma in Portage. "It's a never-ending problem at this time of year here."
