The Portage Kiwanis Club is taking a newly forming Crown Point Kiwanis Club under its wing.
Ken Morton from Centier Bank is president of the Portage Kiwanis Club, which has 80 members. He is spearheading the effort to get another Kiwanis Club started in Crown Point.
There has been an evening Kiwanis Club going in Crown Point since the 1950s, but Morton said there has been a significant interest shown in a breakfast or luncheon Kiwanis Club.
"Two hundred fifty Crown Point businesses have been sent letters informing them of the introductory and informational meeting," Morton said.
