Burglars with heavy-duty tools cut a 3-foot hole in the concrete wall of a bowling alley, then sliced through the tops of two safes to get to their contents. The bar manager at the Super Bowl, 213 S. East St., made the discovery about 9:15 a.m. Monday. The bowling alley closed at 11 p.m. Sunday.

The thieves also stole the change from video games, pool tables and other amusements. Bowling alley staff said they did not know how much money was taken.

Scott Rediger, the bar manager, knew something was wrong when he got to work Monday morning.
