Some knew it as the Blaw Knox military tank plant, closed long ago. Others saw it as vacant property wasting away. Today, the 552,000 square foot industrial business park on Railroad Avenue in East Chicago is near capacity, providing additional economic strength for the city.

The Prime Group Inc., a real estate firm based in Chicago, purchased the property, now known as the East Chicago Enterprise Center, in the late 1980s and completely renovated it.
