The first impressions of Friday night's Rensselaer-Twin Lakes football game were deceiving.
Very deceiving.
Rensselaer took the opening kickoff right down to the end zone on the host Indians in a sectional 17 contest, then recovered a fumble and marched back into scoring territory.
The rest of the night, however, belonged to the Indians, who went on to a 25-6 triumph.
"You've got to hand it to Twin Lakes," Rensselaer coach Jerry McKim said. "We drove on them early, but we couldn't establish command of the line of scrimmage again.
"Something happened," he continued, "and you have to credit Twin Lakes for that something."
