When Helen Dancey of Valparaiso began watching the birds in a meadow at Sunset Farm, she got two surprises.
First was the realization that among the many grassland birds she was seeing were as many as 10 pairs of sedge wrens, a bird listed as ''threatened" in Indiana.
The largest group of sedge wrens on record here was a flock of 50 seen in Cowles Bog in 1916. The Audubon Society's annual bird counts usually find one or two individuals each ...
