- They're back. The Merrillville Conservancy District and its proposal to build a storage garage at 7200 Madison St., that is.

Chairman Joe Sanok said the board intends to revive the project, which was killed by the town five years ago when neighbors objected.

"We're waiting to see what happens in the election," Sanok said.

Town Planner Tim Brown said a special exception is needed for the building, which would be in a commercially zoned area. That requires approval by the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and the Town Council.
