EXHIBITION
The largest retrospective exhibition of the work of African-American artist and self-taught painter Horace Pippin is on view through July 10 at The Art Institute of Chicago.
The exhibit, "I Tell My Heart: The Art of Horace Pippin," features more than 90 of Pippin's works, which embrace the cultural history of African- Americans in intimate interiors, portraits, landscapes, war scenes and biblical and historical themes.
