WASHINGTON TWP. - Three accident victims escaped serious injury following a head-on collision here Wednesday afternoon in which one vehicle burst into flames. Michael Sipich, 38, of Chesterton, was cited for driving left of center as he was traveling east along Indiana 2 just west of County Road 450E.

Christopher Young, 23, of Westville, told Porter County police that he was driving west on Indiana 2 and noticed the car in front of him suddenly swerve to the right on the crest of a hill. That car successfully avoided Sipich's oncoming 1976 Chevy truck, which was in the westbound lane.
