The great American feast of Thanksgiving is this week. Most of us will gather with friends and family around a table groaning under the weight of the food it is asked to carry. We will begin the feeding frenzy that for so many is the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Most will pray to a God of some sort. Allah, Jehovah, Mohammed, Yahweh or whatever else we care to regard as a higher power.
We will offer prayers of thanks for the largesse before us. We will give thanks for the company of loved ones, friends and family. Some will gather in soup kitchens, thankful for the efforts of ...
