The director of "Hard Target" doesn't try to Woo you. Hong Kong native John Woo simply runs you over with action. And just as soon as you've had a chance to pick yourself up and dust yourself off, he runs you over again - with a bigger vehicle.

It's not that Woo isn't capable of subtlety. His films have aptly been compared with the work of Sam Fuller, Martin Scorsese and Sergio Leone.
