The annual meeting of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. turned into a memorial Friday with 10,000 people gathering to honor founder Sam Walton two months after his death. The Barnhill Arena at the University of Arkansas was filled to capacity, with the overflow crowd moving to a room equipped with closed-circuit television.

The program began and ended with the song, "A Moment in Time." Three huge TV screens displayed past meetings with Walton talking to shareholders and employees.
