A few recent attacks on tourists in Egypt - seen as a threat to the $4 billion tourism industry there - have prompted the government to announce patrols of some tourist areas by military helicopters. An attack on a tourist bus on Oct. 21 in southern Egypt left a British tourist dead and two others injured. On Oct. 1, gunmen fired on a Nile cruise ship carrying German tourists. And over the summer, two bombing incidents in which no one was hurt were reported.
