In the ever-changing world of Perry County politics, the county seat is being moved for the third time in 175 years.
Perry County commissioners have voted to send the county seat four miles north from Cannelton to Tell City.
Cannelton's upset that the three commissioners won't spend $1.3 million to renovate its courthouse.
"It will leave a cavity, a void in the city, which we really can't afford to have," Cannelton Mayor Hargis Hafele said.
Tell City is obviously pleased to be home to a $2.6 million government center.
