The Israelis and the Arabs don't like to speak to each other. But if they don't, there never will be any kind of lasting peace in the Middle East. And the opportunity presented now is too good to pass up.
The United States, acting as an outside organizer for a possible peace conference, must continue to use its influence to press Israel and the Palestinians to join the peace effort now that Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan have agreed to attend.
