Voters here won't have to use paper ballots when they go to the polls Nov. 5. The issue - an apparent misunderstanding between a Lake Superior Court Judge Gerald N. Svetanoff and the Indiana Court of Appeals - was resolved Friday.

Svetanoff halted the impoundment of the voting machines used in the May primary in the city of Gary, clearing the way for their use in next month's general election.

Svetanoff's ruling was based on a Wednesday directive from the Indiana Court of Appeals.
