Carl Gerlach browsed through McCormick Place here Saturday and was treated to more than just a taste of the best and brightest auto manufacturers are offering in this, the first year of the 1990s.
More than 1,000 automobiles, from the futuristic Vector to the high- selling Ford Escort, were polished to a brilliant sheen for Gerlach and the rest of the estimated 100,000 people attending the opening day of the Chicago Auto Show.
