U.S. Rep. Andrew Jacobs Jr., D-Indianapolis, thinks $75,000 is enough salary for anybody. He is one of four Hoosier congressmen who do not accept part of their salaries.
Jacobs, who has not accepted his full congressional pay for years, said he considers $75,000 "sufficient enough for any man or woman." He will return the balance to the U.S. Treasury.
U.S. Rep. Jim Jontz, D-Monticello, established a scholarship fund in 1987 to benefit high school students in his 5th Congressional District. He has financed the fund by returning portions of congressional pay raises and money he collects from speaking ...
