Atlantic City casinos brought economic success and failure since coming to the resort town 10 years ago. Critics and supporters of the casinos agree the money from gaming in southern New Jersey in the last decade is staggering.

But they also agree the amount of redevelopment so far has been limited, although casino supporters say that is starting to improve.

"If you are talking about redeveloping the city itself, it has failed miserably," said Max Slusher, the economist with the the Atlantic County Department of Economic Development.
