Hobart Township School Board members, in an effort to keep from raising school lunch prices, voted Tuesday to pay the salary of the food service director out of the school's general fund. The only other alternative was to use the cafeteria fund until the end of this year.

The director's salary is currently being paid out of the general fund.

Essentially, the board extended the time during which the salary will be paid out of the general fund.

Current lunch prices are 95 cents per day for elementary students, and $1.10 per day for secondary students.
