Willow Slough continues to grow shallower as water flows out the lowered dam, prior to renovating J.C. Murphey Lake to remove abundant carp.
"We expect to have the lake two feet lower than normal by Monday," said Slough manager Dave Spitznagle.
Fisheries personnel from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources have been electroshocking the lake in an effort to save adult bass for restocking the Slough. Cold water has hampered these efforts, Spitznagle said, with only about 50 largemouths having been taken. A thousand bass was the target, but Spitznagle said that manymay be unrealistic at this time.
