Thousands of Crown Point pupils will be immunized today and Friday as state and local health officials try to stem a spreading measles outbreak here. Today a team of nurses and public health workers from the state and from nine Indiana counties will begin inoculating pupils at the high school and junior high school here.

Friday, the teams will move to Crown Point's five elementary schools to immunize pupils in grades 5 and 6.

Crown Point School Superintendent Charles Skurka estimated 3,200 pupils will be affected.

The measles alert began last week after several members of the high school soccer team fell ill.
