We're suckers for time-saving devices.
It is the age of the TV preacher, Dial-A-Prayer and yes, even churches with drive-up windows.
As if we need an excuse, during the spring and summer months, to skip church. This is the time of year when church worship takes a back-seat to sun worship. Churches just can't compete with lazy Sunday mornings at the beach, the golf course or in the garden.
The joke, among Presbyterians, is that church members disappear to spend the summer at an imaginary resort called Presbyterian Lake.
