A plan being considered by the Highland Plan Commission to open dead-end Henry Street to a proposed industrial and commercial subdivision was blocked Wednesday night by residents of the 8500 block of Henry Street. Developers John Boender, Allen Leep and Roger Zigterman Jr. proposed the subdivision on about two acres south of the Highland post office.

Although the post office is interested in expanding in the same area, if it does not acquire the lots at 8516 Kennedy Ave. and 8515 Henry St., the land would be developed as commercial and industrial property.
