How many times has this happened to you? You see a fish finning around in clear, shallow water. It will be easy pickings, you tell yourself, but after a half hour of futile casting you're ready to throw rocks.
Was the problem you weren't offering the fish what it wanted - or did it see or hear you? Probably the latter two because the senses of fish are very acute.
