This small Newton County community, once famous for a nudist colony which conducted international beauty contests and drew police raids, is back in the news again.
This time it is because of a lawsuit filed in federal court involving pasties and G-strings and nude runners in two events during the summer of 1987.
Douglas Palaschak, a Ventura, Calif., lawyer, says his rights and those of others were violated when Newton County police required 21 contestants in the Miss Nude World Pageant in June 27, 1987, to cover their groin areas and nipples.
