Eric Kilbourne, a 7-year-old Hammond boy badly burned nearly a month ago, was able to walk Friday for the first time since the accident.
Eric's 18-year-old sister, Stephanie Bogdan, said Friday her brother might be home for Christmas.
She hasn't visited her brother in Cincinnati, but their mother, Linda Jefferson, called home with welcome news that Eric could be back home in Hammond in time to open Christmas presents.
The boy was taken to The Community Hospital in Munster Nov. 12, then transferred later that day to the burns unit of the University of Chicago Hospital.
