CALUMET WRESTLING REGIONAL
Last week's sectional was the final "team" wrestling event for most high schools.
Wrestlers eliminated in that tournament go behind the scenes and help ready the regional qualifiers for the next round.
That is not the case for Calumet and East Chicago Central this season. Each school qualified all 13 wrestlers for today's Calumet Regional, putting them a step ahead of the rest of the pack in the scramble for the team championship.
"It always helps to have more qualifiers," said Calumet coach Ken Stigall. His team is favored to win.
