The Lake County grand jury is alive and well, despite a pledge by County Prosecutor Jack Crawford to limit his use of it.
Crawford recently drew headlines by having a grand jury indict Hammond City Controller Edward Brown on charges of reckless and drunken driving.
Hammond lawyer Stephen Goot, who represents Brown, said Crawford appears to be using the grand jury as much if not more than in the past.
