"Poltergeist" followers beware: With the exception of the first 30 minutes, "Poltergeist III" is about as disappointing as its predecessor.
Fans of the original film will probably flock to "Poltergeist III" out of devotion to Steven Spielberg's original 1982 classic. This film, however, is burdened by a barrage of "Let's scare Carol Anne" scenes and some surprisingly tame performances and special effects. The third incarnation of the "Poltergeist" mythology is likely to terminate any devotee's hope for another sequel.
