An environmental agency received permission Monday to seek donations in Portage. Citizens for a Better Environment, which has offices in Wheeler and Chicago, asked the Board of Works earlier this summer for permission to solicit donations through a door-to-door campaign. Because board members did not know about the agency, they asked a representative to attend Monday's board meeting.
