Concern over tests showing that a large percentage of Monroe County residents have been exposed to PCB-contaminated material has prompted one of the largest studies of PCB exposure in humans ever done in the United States, state health officials say.
The State Board of Health is scheduled to announce the study Monday and begin seeking volunteers. The study will be conducted on about 1,000 Monroe County residents between the ages of 18 and 65 who have lived in the county at least five years.
