The Rev. F. Brannan Jackson, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, asked the Gary School Board only one question Tuesday night - why didn't the board renew the contract of Superintendent Ernest Jones? The question was echoed several times at the School Board meeting, but not answered.

Board members instead said they would meet sometime before the Jan. 27 meeting and decide whether they should reveal their reasons for the Dec. 18 vote not to renew Jones' contract when it expires on Dec. 31, 1987.
