The same safeguards that discovered a California man was allegedly selling his AIDS-contaminated blood in Los Angeles probably would detect contamination of blood in Indiana, say area blood donor officials.
Joseph Markowski, 29, of West Hollywood, is accused of selling his AIDS- contaminated blood to a Los Angeles plasma center similar to those in Northwest Indiana.
Markowski, an alleged male prostitute, was charged Monday with attempted murder for selling his blood, knowing he carried the AIDS virus.
He says he did it because he was hard up for money.
