"I don't know what's going on, but the bass have gone crazy here in the last five days," said Dick Hudson, veteran manager of the Willow Slough Fish and Wildlife Area at Morocco.
Monday, Tommy Marshall of Morocco landed 19 keepers of 14 inches or longer - keeping the top six. Last week Marshall and Ed Camblin, a retired Morocco mail carrier, sorted a 12-fish, two-man limit which totaled 33 pounds. That's a 2 3/4-pound average with the top bass weighing 4 pounds. Not too shabby!
Marshall likes a jig and pig combo, while other bassers are scoring on fliptail worms, buzz baits and single spins.
