Tae kwon do has traditionally been a man's sport. Even in Korea where schools such as Young-In University teach the masters, women are few and far between.
American tae kwon do classes are typically taken by males, from young boys to adult men. More young girls are now learning martial arts than ever before, but they don't seem to continue past the teen years.
