Article: If Park District needs money, time to start convincing is now

It's funny sometimes how things bump into each other.
For example, soon after I finished reading local media coverage of the Plainfield Park District's ongoing trials and tribulations, the cute little yellow mailbox with the red, waving flag popped onto my computer screen.
I opened the subject of that electronic announcement, a nice e-mail from a reader concerned about various local issues.
Among his concerns is what he sees as the Park District's failure to fully and properly serve its residents. He noted weak programming and insufficient facilities for a district that has 84,000 residents and is growing by the day.
The reader was right.
Indeed, Park District officials have been saying ...
