Evan Lysacek waves to the crowd at the World Figure Skating Championships after he received his bronze medal on Thursday.
Naperville native Evan Lysacek said he was going to spend his first trip to the World Figure Skating Championships learning and soaking up information for the future.
Among the lessons Lysacek learned is what it feels like to stand on the medal podium.
He entered the competition in Moscow as the third-ranked U.S. men's skater and hoped to be in the top 10.
He finished with the bronze medal.
The gold medal went to Stephane Lambiel of Switzerland and Canadian men's
